I made the switch to the Amazon Prime Visa (Chase) about a year ago. Why?
- No annual fee
- 5% back on all Amazon orders (no maximum)
- 2% back on Restaurants, Gas Stations and Drugstores (no maximum)
- 1% every where else (no maximum)
Your rewards are available to you only at Amazon. If you shop at Amazon as much I do and you’re already a Prime member, it’s a no brainer. If you’re currently not an Amazon Prime member, that membership is $99 annually. A key factor here is that the Amazon Prime Visa doesn’t have a limit on monthly or quarterly spend to earn the high rewards rate as many other credit cards do. I checked a few sites to see their selections for top credit cards.
Creditcards.com: Discover it Cashback Match: Offers 5% rewards on certain categories on a rotating quarterly basis. There are quarterly limits. Amazon Prime Visa beats this.
Creditkarma.com: Chase Freedom Unlimited: 1.5% rewards on all purchases, unlimited. Amazon Prime Visa beats this.
NerdWallet: Capital One Venture Rewards: 2 miles on all purchases, unlimited. Amazon Prime Visa beats this.
Again, if you’re a regular Amazon shopper, this is an easy decision. And, it’s easy to use your rewards as the balance displays each time you check out. I’m always racking up rewards and using them for my Amazon purchases.
One last thing…the credit card is also cool looking as it’s made of metal.
